Entry Rules

 

  1. Entries and payment must be made on-line at http://www.trybooking.com.au/361252.  Entries close on 20 May 2018.
  1. There are restrictions on how many sections performers may enter:
  • Only one AMEB section can be entered
  • Only one Concerto section can be entered
  • Only one Non-competitive section can be entered
  1. Entries are not transferable, and participants must enter under their own name. An entrant may not enter any section more than once.
  1. Entrants wishing to withdraw from a section must notify the Festival coordinators as soon as possible.
  1. Entry fees will not be refunded unless a section is cancelled by the Festival Committee.
  1. In the event of insufficient entries, the committee reserves the right to cancel sections, vary prizes, or amalgamate two or more sections.
  1. The Festival committee will not accept responsibility for any accident, injury or loss of personal belongings whilst at the venue. Participants and spectators attend at their own risk.
  1. The Festival reserves the right to film, record or photograph any aspect of the competition including entrants and performances to use them for promotional purposes at the Committee’s discretion.
  1. Entrants are expected to participate in the spirit of the Festival and uphold an acceptable level of behaviour and dress standards.
  1. The Canberra String Festival holds an Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA) licence. Entrants must comply with the following copyright rules:
  • Entrants and accompanists must perform from original published editions of music. The registration desk will ask to sight this music before performance.
  • A copy of the music is required for the adjudicator. A photocopy may be supplied, and the committee will destroy this copy after the festival.  Please note there are no photocopying facilities at the venue.
  • The Canberra String Festival will not be liable for any infringements of copyright by performers.
  1. Entrants must report to the registration desk at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the section they are participating in.
  1. No entrant may perform the same work in more than one section of the Festival.
  1. No entrant may perform an item in a Festival section in which they have won a section in the previous year.
  1. The adjudicator’s decision is final. Communication with the adjudicator by entrants or other parties (apart from Festival officials) during sections is prohibited.
  1. Entrants will be supplied with a copy of the adjudicator’s report at the completion of each section.
  1. All prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the adjudicator.
  1. Entrants using the CSF accompanist must contact them before the festival, to confirm the arrangement.
  1. Entrants must perform in their section at the scheduled time, play only one piece and observe the time limit where specified.
